MineShoku Tensei — State of the Project: 7 Days Before Open Beta

There are moments where transparency is the only right decision. Today is one of those moments.

With seven days left before the scheduled Open Beta date, the MineShoku Tensei team wanted to take the time to give a full and honest breakdown of the project, department by department. This blog post is not an announcement of a delay, but an invitation to understand where we truly stand, what we've accomplished, what remains to be done, and how the upcoming Closed Beta session will be the deciding factor.

From the beginning, MineShoku Tensei's commitment to its community has always been to never rush something out at the expense of the player experience. That commitment remains unchanged.

🏗️ Infrastructure & Tech

Let's start with what often causes the most concern: infrastructure. And the good news is that it's probably the most solid department in the project.

Multi-instance is implemented. The machines are powerful, properly configured, and capable of hosting hundreds of players simultaneously. The overall architecture is sound good.

Where things got complicated during the last Closed Beta sessions was not the infrastructure itself, but synchronization conflicts between certain plugin systems and the database. These conflicts caused repeated crashes that made the sessions difficult to complete. These issues have since been identified and fixed, and the upcoming beta session will be the real test to see whether the corrections hold at scale.

🎮 Gameplay & Development

This is the department that has progressed the most over the past few weeks.

The Skill Tree is very advanced in its development but still needs some adjustments before being fully stable. Players will be able to dive into a deep and balanced progression system, and the team is making sure it will be ready for launch.

All 5 classes (Warrior, Archer, Assassin, Mage, Cleric) are implemented in-game and have been balanced for both PvE and PvP. Each class has its own identity and progression tree.

The mount system is being finalized. One of the most common pieces of feedback from beta sessions was about mobility. The team has worked on a mount system that will be available from the very beginning of the game.

The crafting system is implemented, along with a jobs system featuring 9 professions in total. To be clear: you are not locked into a single profession. Players are free to explore and develop multiple professions throughout their adventure, giving everyone the flexibility to play the way they want.

A daily rewards system has also been developed to give players a reason to log in every day and keep the experience fresh over time.

The Fox Statue resurrection system is still in development and will not be available at the Open Beta launch. It will be added in a later update.

The Duel system also needs a few more adjustments before it's stable.

🌍 Translations & Accessibility

One of the most ambitious projects of the past few weeks is the in-game translation system.

Offering MineShoku Tensei to an international community means translating all server content across multiple regions. To achieve this, the team built its own in-house system inspired by Crowdin, and is now putting together a dedicated team of passionate translators.

In parallel, an automatic translation system integrated directly into the chat is being developed, so players from all regions can interact naturally with each other.

If you're fluent in a language and want to contribute, feel free to open a ticket to join the translation team.

One more thing: something is also in development regarding accessibility on another platform... but the team is not yet in a position to confirm anything at this stage. Stay tuned.

✍️ Quests & Story

The scriptwriting team, made up of 2 people, has done remarkable work under demanding conditions.

All Chapter 1 quests and Zone 1 side quests are finished and implemented in-game. Players will have access to a complete and immersive narrative experience from day one.

Work is currently focused on creating and implementing Chapter 2 quests, additional side quests, as well as the daily quest system and adventurer guild quests.

This is a department making solid progress, but the volume of work is immense for the number of people involved. If you have experience with the Typewriter plugin and want to contribute, applications are open.

🔨 Builds & World

Without a doubt the most advanced department in the project. Our builders have delivered exceptional work that the team is genuinely proud of.

Zones 1 and 2 of the Fittoa Region are fully built. Zone 3 is approximately 80% complete. All objectives set for the Open Beta have been met on the building side, and the team is already preparing to tackle the future zones planned for the Official Release.

Here are some exclusive images of the work accomplished. The world of Fittoa is taking shape exactly as we envisioned it, and the level of detail and quality our builders have achieved is something we're genuinely proud of.

🎨 Interface & GUI

This is the department where honesty matters most.

Following a change of artist mid-project, the team has fallen behind on the creation of in-game graphical interfaces. The full commission represents over 40 GUIs to be delivered for a budget of over €1,600. With the new artist we are currently working with, things are progressing well and the collaboration is going smoothly. However, if the server were to open on June 20th, only 1 or 2 custom GUIs would be ready, which is not representative of the experience we want to offer.

This is one of the factors weighing most heavily on the current reflection around the opening date.

🚀 Official Launcher

Great news in this overall picture: the Official MineShoku Tensei Launcher is 95% complete and is already available for download on our official website.

The launcher is not required to connect to the server. You can join MineShoku Tensei with a standard Minecraft client as always. But for those who want to enjoy the experience in the best possible conditions, the launcher includes optimized mods and exclusive features, including a dynamic ambient music system that changes depending on the zone you're in.

🧪 Closed Beta Sessions Recap

Four Closed Beta sessions have been organized so far.

The first two were internal sessions between staff members, in a small group and without multi-instance. These sessions went well and generated a lot of valuable feedback on quests and gameplay, all of which was taken into account.

The last two sessions involved beta testers from our community. The team wants to sincerely and warmly thank each and every one of them for their patience and understanding. These sessions were unfortunately marked by significant issues: database synchronization conflicts, entity-related bugs, and problems with the tutorial which has since been fully reworked. These sessions were not conclusive from a player experience standpoint, but they were extremely valuable in identifying and fixing problems that could not have been caught otherwise.

That is exactly what Closed Beta is for.

🔮 What Comes Next: What Will Decide June 20th

One final Closed Beta session is planned in the coming days. This session will be the deciding factor.

If the experience is smooth, stable, and representative of the level of quality MineShoku Tensei wants to offer its players from day one, the Open Beta will go ahead on June 20th as planned.

If that is not the case, and the team determines that the conditions are not right to deliver an experience worthy of your expectations and ours, a delay will be considered. This would not be a decision taken lightly, and the team is fully aware of what that means for a community that has been waiting. But releasing something rushed that leaves a bad first impression would be far worse than a short additional wait.

In any scenario, you will be informed quickly, honestly, and with full explanation.

Thank you all for your trust and your support. This project exists because of you, and delivering something you'll be proud to be part of is what drives every single person on this team every day.
